DJ and producer Nodus has created a tribute single that reimagines Mozart’s iconic Turkish March for the modern dancefloor. Known as Rondo Alla Turca, the third movement of Mozart’s 11th piano sonata in A major is one of the composer’s most celebrated works. Also referred to as Turkish Rondo or Turkish March, the piece was composed in 1783 in 6/8 time, reminiscent of Ottoman Mehter marches, instead of the traditional 4/4 structure typical in Western music. It remains a striking reflection of Turkish cultural influence on early Renaissance Europe.
Inspired by Mozart’s admiration for Turkish culture, Nodus has transformed this classical masterpiece into a contemporary tech house version. Infused with trending tech house rhythms and synth motifs that have gained popularity in Turkey, this adaptation is poised to dominate the festival and party scenes this year.
Recognized as one of Turkey’s leading tech house producers, Nodus is celebrated for blending melodic elements with rhythmic tech house selections in his sets. Over the past year, he has released tracks with prominent labels such as Toolroom, Factoria, and Hotl Records, and his track Addikt was featured in the HouseYounite ADE Sampler 2022.
Nodus is set to premiere his latest work at the Ibiza Music Summit, with a global launch at the iconic Lola’s nightclub, alongside renowned DJs. He recently released the second episode of his live podcast series, Tech That, on YouTube.
“I’m thrilled about 2023, as two of my dream labels will be releasing my new projects,” shared Nodus. He also announced that he will be teaching a tech house production class at Istanbul DJ Academy, sharing his expertise with aspiring producers.
